 Makers of the WaveSpin reel, which features a patented wavy-lipped spool that controls loops and eliminates tangles, have added two larger models to their original DH3000 spinner. The DH4000 and DH5000 appear virtually identical except in size: The light-inshore 4000 weighs 12 ounces and the inshore/offshore 5000 weighs 12.5 ounces. WaveSpin inventor Doug Hannon also beefed up the drag system in all three models. The 4000 holds 290 yards of 8-pound mono or 30-pound braid. The 5000 carries 240 yards of 10-pound mono or 40-pound braid. Both feature a 4.9:1 gear ratio and come with a two-year unlimited warranty. Costs are $89.95 and $109.95. Visit www.wavespinreel.com.
