South African-born photographer Marc Montocchio specializes in photographing big fish in the open ocean, preferable those with a long bill attached, free swimming and unhooked. His travels have taken him around the world in search of the next “impossible” blue-water shot. He uses a combination of leading-edge technologies, a little bit of nuts and a great circle of accomplished captains and guides to bring back his unique view of the world’s oceans. His work has graced the pages and covers of international publications like National Geographic and corporate ad campaigns for large commercial companies. When not in the middle of a bait ball or jumping off the back of a sport fisher into the spread, you will find him at home with his wife Laura on the water in Morehead City, North Carolina.
