After spending nine years with one of the most respected boat manufacturers in the industry, Kevin Barker set out on his own about a year ago. Unassuming and soft spoken, on this Fish Trial for Sport Fishing magazine, Barker let his premier model — a 25½‑foot bay boat with a Michael Peters-designed twin‑stepped hull — speak for itself. The new boat model is pronounced “Cal-uh-BOH-gee” Bay, named after a body of water along South Carolina’s coast in Beaufort County, just inside Hilton Head Island, where Barker grew up and cut his teeth on boating and fishing.
