Phenom Yachts president and CEO Tommy Hancock and his team set out to design the most family-friendly, hardcore fishing and high performing semicustom center-console boat on the market.

“At the core of everything we do,” the company says, “is an untamable drive to innovate, [to] design products that change lives and spark lifelong memories.”

The Phenom Yachts—with a lineup that includes a 37- and 34-footer and the new 43—blend classic lines with the Phenom NexStep running surface that reimagines the step-hull.

Curated materials and textures make up the plush, spacious interiors. Each Phenom purchase is accompanied by a concierge service guiding the owner through the option-rich build process.

The new 43 provides big helpings of style and performance. The helm features triple premium captain’s chairs attended by a 10,000 Btu Dometic air-conditioning system. SiLeather silicone fabric ensures comfort and durability.

The side-entry console boasts 110 V and USB/USB-C wall outlets, an actuated teak table, wood-accented liner and flooring, a queen-size berth/U-shaped seating, enclosed shower and porcelain head, and a full galley.

The 43 comes with ReLiOn lithium cranking batteries; Vetus bow thruster; CombiMaster inverter/charger; Frigibar Polar Cap ice maker; Fusion stereo with JL Audio speakers and amp; radar, MFDs, boat monitoring equipment; Lumitec lights; Seakeeper 4.5 gyrostabilizer; and a Zipwake dynamic trim-control system.

A hardtop and leaning post are standard, the latter with rear-facing mezzanine seating with a chiller box. A tower is optional. Two side-entry doors access the cockpit.

Two pressurized transom livewells with aquarium-style windows total 40 gallons, and a pair of in-deck aft fish boxes offer 87 gallons each. Midship in-deck storage boxes are 56 gallons each, and within optional bow seats, there are another 35 gallons of storage.

Gunwales sport six rod holders, with rod storage under each side and on the hardtop. A teaser-reel package includes Penn 115 reels with Precision Auto Reels for deep-drop fishing.

The 43 is powered by Mercury, with up to a four-pack of 450Rs, tended by Mercury joystick piloting and a Vessel View multifunction display. The 43 also boasts a top speed of 69 mph.

Editor’s Note

Phenom’s 43 boasts advanced technology for powering AC electrical systems. Navico’s Fathom e-Power uses robust outboard alternators, a lithium battery bank, and an inverter system to eliminate the need for an onboard generator. -Jim Hendricks
