In early June, Raymarine invited a handful of marine-electronics journalists to its facility in Fareham, Hampshire, England, to introduce the a9, a12 and gS195 multifunction displays and show us its hardcore product-testing program.
The process is best viewed in video rather than translated into text. Raymarine freezes and broils and salts its materials and products. It blasts them with fire-hoselike jets and shakes them throughout multiple axes. Take a look at the video below. (Note: Turn up your sound a bit; the original audio came through fairly soft.)
