Furuno has announced a major software update (v 4.01) for NavNet TZtouch2 units, adding more than 20 new features and enhancements, including CZone digital-switching controls, radar echo trails (pictured) and echo averaging, fuel-management controls, a remote app and more. The free update also enhances the edge-swipe capability on TZtouch2: You no longer need an exact vertical or horizontal swipe to activate the edge menus, making them easier to access in heavier seas. Furuno also has incorporated a free remote app that allows control of a TZTouch2 MFD from a smartphone or tablet.
