garmin watch
Garmin’s new quatix — a GPS watch designed for avid mariners — provides anglers with key navigation data including tide information, course and speed over ground, and barometric readings. The three-axis electronic compass delivers a bearing whether under way or not, and the man-overboard feature triggers an alarm on a compatible Garmin plotter. The quatix provides all basic watch functions and is waterproof to 150 feet; it connects wirelessly to a Garmin autopilot and to devices using BlueChart Mobile. Its battery lasts six weeks in watch mode, 16 hours in GPS mode. Cost is $449.99. Call 800-800-1020 or visit garmin.com.
