Attention women fly anglers who love the Montana scene: Simms has reinvented its original Chica de Mayo women’s fly-fishing event as Women are Fly. The first WAF get-together is scheduled for May 13-14 at The River’s Edge West fly shop in Bozeman. Activities include a Simms fashion show, talks on conservation, raffle drawings, focus groups, and casting and knot-tying instruction.
At noon on May 14, the event transitions into the Four Corners Fly Fishing Festival—hosted by The River’s Edge and Fins & Feathers—with manufacturer representatives from a wide range of fly fishing brands talking product and giving demos.
Simms hopes to schedule more Women are Fly events through the year, helping to build a comprehensive women’s fly-fishing community. The events are free.
