Penn made improvements to the bail and spool of the popular Fierce spinning reels to create the new Fierce II. The spool is braid-ready, and Penn added line-capacity rings. The Techno-Balanced graphite rotor and bail improve line lay on the spool for longer, smoother casts and reduced tangles. Twelve Fierce II reels are now available, including the new 2500 and four Live Liner reels. Penn also paired the Fierce IIs with graphite-composite rods to create 10 combos in lengths of 6 feet 6 inches to 10 feet. Fierce IIs cost $59.95 to $109.95; combos cost $79.95 to $109.95.
