Menhaden, often described as “the oily little fish nobody eats,” are considered by many to be the most important fish in the sea.

Also known as bunkers, they are a key food source for the sport-fishing species you fish for like striped bass, bluefish, weakfish, king mackerel and cobia.

Increasing their abundance will help ensure these popular species have enough food to remain abundant and healthy. And that means better fishing.

Tell the ASMFC you support healthy oceans and abundant fisheries.

The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) is considering updates to the menhaden fishery management plan that will leave more fish in the water, ensure healthy sport fisheries and improve fishing all along the Atlantic coast.
