How does a boat company celebrate 30 years of setting the standard in center console offshore boats? Regulator Marine does it by raising the bar higher yet.

Edenton, North Carolina-based Regulator marked the start of its fourth decade with special-edition amenities and upgrades to every model in its sport-fisher line, from a new standard tuna door on the Regulator 23 to the Seakeeper gyro on the Regulator 41 — all aimed, the company says, at helping anglers and families pursue everything they love about life on the water.

Select Regulators now feature a Yamaha CL7 touch-screen display to which, on the 31 and bigger boats, you can add Set Point technology with the Yamaha Touch Master for ultimate control, and/or Lenco Marine Auto Glide trim tab control to reduce bow rise, eliminate bow bounce and adjust boat level to maximize fuel efficiency.

Those who know Regulators love them. In our survey, again, Regulator drew scores near the top in our four main categories: Fishability, Design/Construction, Performance and, highest of all, Value. Respondents especially liked Regulator’s construction, safety and ride — and capped those compliments with a brand reputation ranking among the highest.

The redesigned Regulator 34 still rides and fishes big, with new touches such as a berth design that includes sleeping accommodations (including reading lights) for two, racks for up to 11 rods and a removable watersports tow bar. Up top, there’s a new starboard boarding/dive door.

Anglers already love the 34’s transom livewell and fish box, both illuminated, and its deluxe tackle center with rigging station. A pair of insulated 6-foot boxes on each side welcome either rods or cold items, and there’s a 368-quart forward-center dry storage box.

Comfort’s covered. There’s a stand-up head and handheld shower within the console. Plop down on forward seating with flip-up backrests, upholstered forward console seating for two or the integrated flush folding transom seat.

Survey respondents praise Regulator’s wide menu of options. For even more comfort and convenience, consider a cockpit galley or a convertible sun bed/pedestal table. For even more serious fishing, pick Taco Grand Slam 380 outriggers (with aluminum or carbon-fiber poles), or a refrigerated chill plate to keep fish ice-cold in the transom fish box.

Powered by triple Yamaha 300s on Regulator’s distinctive, boat-lengthening lightweight aluminum brackets, the Regulator 34 can top 60 mph; it’s only a bit slower with a pair of 350s.
