Sea Born says its latest and largest center-console to date — the SX281 — clearly courts offshore anglers while maintaining a family-friendly design. In addition, the company plans to add 24-, 26- and 30-foot models to this lineup.
“Following the excitement of our earlier offshore model, the SX239, we saw continued interest to build even larger for the offshore crowd,” says Seaborn Wally Bell, company owner and namesake. “The 281 is the next big step for Sea Born, with many more new models on the horizon.”
The stepped-hull SX281 comes with a 40-gallon leaning-post livewell and rigging station, a 13 1⁄2-gallon well in the port transom corner, transom and side doors, twin in-sole fish boxes, and ample vertical and horizontal rod hangers. The new model also features fore and aft lounges, two-position captain’s chairs, multiple USB powering stations, abundant storage holds, and a head unit with counter and freshwater sink inside the console. The dive platform aft is easily accessible from a telescoping ladder.
The SX281 carries 180 gallons of fuel; twin Suzuki 200s comprise the standard power package, but the vessel is rated for up to 600 horsepower.
