Shimano has redesigned its Stella SW 8000PG, 8000HG, 10000PG and 14000XG spinning reels, adding new Infinity Drive technology, and employing HeatSink Drag in the larger two models. Infinity Drive uses a new main-shaft supporting structure to eliminate friction within the pinion gear for smoother, stronger winding. HeatSink dissipates heat buildup when fighting a big fish due to a special insulation sheet. The 8000-size reels, built specifically for braid, feature Cross Carbon Drag. All offer 55 pounds of max drag pressure and cost $999.99.
