Sea Fox Boat Company began with the aim of building hand-crafted saltwater boats with the best amenities, features, performance and function. Over several decades, boatbuilding materials and methods have changed, but that aim hasn’t.
Today Sea Fox builds center-console, bay, side-console and dual-console boats, all paired with Yamaha outboard power. (Yamaha Command Link digital gauges are standard on boats 20 feet and above.)
Sea Fox boats are built with all composite hulls and decks. Decks have aluminum plates fiberglassed into the motor-mount splashwell area for extra strength to support maximum horsepower and heavier motor weights.
Bait remains fresh in aquarium style livewells. A glassed-in keel drain tube from bow to stern ends bilge puddles. Wiring is color-coded for easy maintenance and service.
368 Commander
Launched in summer 2019, the 368 Commander is the Sea Fox flagship. It has a sharp 23 degree deadrise and resin infused hull to handle the roughest water conditions. The 3-inch-thick composite transom can hold either triple Yamaha F300s or twin F425s.
Like all Sea Fox boats, the 368 has plenty of seating: three deluxe captain’s chairs at the helm, a double-wide lounger at console front, electric-actuated bow table amid bow seats, a flip-out aft bench (which 44 percent of respondents called important), and rear-facing jump seats. Invite a big crew—there are plenty of perches for them!
The Ultima hardtop has a full glass enclosure and powered air vent.
The fishing-focused cockpit has twin pressurized and lighted 45-gallon livewells, four in-floor fish boxes, and two refrigerator/freezer units in the transom.
The boat bears 31 stainless-steel rod holders in the transom and gunwales and an additional nine rod rocket launchers in the top for a total of 40.
An aft rigging station has a bait tray, six-tray tackle compartment (84 percent of respondents said they need storage space for six utility boxes or fewer), plus other storage compartments and drawers.
Options include eight colors, air conditioning, autopilot, DEKit marine mat flooring, -diesel generator, outriggers, radar, Seakeeper gyrostabilizer, seating and upholstery upgrades, sun shade, and Yamaha Helm Master joystick.
