Standard Horizon designed the GX1800/1850 Explorer VHFs with ultra-thin rear cases that make them easy to fit into tight, shallow places. The 25 W fixed-mount radios feature a bright, dot-matrix display, a built-in mic, and an IPX8 waterproof rating. They can pair with the new SSM-70H RAM4 second-station microphone. The GX1850 offers NMEA 2000 connectivity; some models of both radios also come with built-in GPS. Available in black or white, the Explorers cost $199.99 to $269.99; the SSM-70H mic costs $199.99.
